Just out of curiosity, what is the difference between the Skynet eddition and the extended eddition? The Skynet Edition was published by LionsGate Films and it contains three versions of T2. The Theater Edition, 137mins, Director's Cut Edition 153mins, and Extended Special Edition (which is also called the Sunshine Edition) 156mins. The Sunshine Edition was available via an easter egg on the menu, so you needed to enter the code to watch it. Code number: 82997. This one is "Sunshine Edition" as can be determined by the runtime. What makes this version better than the past T2 releases? The T2 Skynet Edition is only the second Bluray version of the film released in the US, and the first one was done in 2006 at the dawn of the Bluray format, when there was a much more limited capability even to just play the film itself. There were only single-layer discs available, which meant much less disc space, as well as nascent encoding options which didn't have anywhere near the quality and efficiency of current encoders. So they were able to do a lot more in this new version, like seamless branching of multiple versions of the film and lossless audio tracks. And the dual-layer discs we have now allow for better picture and audio quality.
